Tortuga
Anarchi is a well-known horse on the Green Horse Fields/The Wire track due to his rivalry with triple crown winner Impressario. However, being rival to such a horse is far from his only achievement. In 35 starts he was in the top three for 86% of those races, and won eleven major races over both surfaces including (but not limited to) two wins in the Breeder's Cup Dirt Mile, the Climax Cup and the Dubai Colt Cup. Furthermore, he placed in both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
If his own achievements were not enough, one would only need to look at Anarchi's pedigree to know that he comes from a talented line - he is a son of demi-legend Xenophon and champion Augusta with siblings the like of Dawn Trader Cup Champion Geronimo, Dawn Trader Cup Champion and Dubai World Cup winner Contessa and grade two racehorse and renowned sire Warlock. His pedigree is an old one, and not to be overlooked. As a sire, Anarchi is very new. His only other foal at this time is Lawless, a yearling filly out of The Devil's Touch. |
Paradise Island beat the odds as a created horse on Green Horse Fields and became a champion against the blue-blooded competition she faced. In a 60-start career she only finished outside of the top three a total of three times and claimed a staggering 18 HoTY race wins. Showing her talent at a young age, she became a grade three as a two year old and continued to show her talents by claiming the Triple Tiara as a three year old. Paradise Island won races on both surfaces. Some of her major wins include The Youth Challenge, the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies', The Independence Cup and The Diana. At the end of her career she was voted into the Green Horse Fields' Hall Of Fame for her numerous achievements.
Paradise Island is a new brood, Tortuga is her first foal. |

If you are looking for the typical boisterous, in-your-face style antics of a typical thoroughbred colt then you are going to be disappointed, as Tor can only be described as calm and cool. Remarkably so. It's unusual to see him exerting himself in games and he could even be described as unsociable in the pasture. Where other horses form relationships within the herd he seems to hover on the edge, or stand completely away from the other horses, and the only bond he has been known to share with another equine is with his mother.
This distant, unsociable nature stretches to his relationships with humans also. He is very difficult to bond with given his tendency to drift away from close interaction and is the kind of horse that will only bond with one (maybe two) people. Otherwise, he treats them with a cold indifference when he is in a situation where he cannot drift away - as if he barely recognizes their presence.
Tor is a very intelligent colt and learns quickly. He grasps new concepts quickly and this makes training him easy for the right person.

Prior to a race Tor is calm and collected, he displays good manners both in the post parade and during loading. He is not phased by the starting contraption and maintains a calm demeanor within it. When the gates open his break is fast as he makes his way toward the front of the group - although exactly where he races isn't something he is fussy about. He will run happily as either a front runner or a preceder.
During a race, Tor is incredibly focused and is not prone to excitability. He responds well to his jockey and runs with the strong racing spirit of his parents which makes him a fairly easy ride. Once in position he will sit comfortably until prompted by his jockey - usually around three to four furlongs from the post. Even then, he does not experience a huge burst of speed although it is enough to be noticeable.
In the stretch, Tor is full of heart and a desire to win. He maintains a strong speed and does not fade quickly, fighting for the top spot with a strong desire.
